Heartistry belongs to creative director, Nancy Hoepner, whose colourful career began in the wedding and corporate events industry in 2002! Armed with a Bachelor of Arts Honours in theatre and art history from the University of Cape Town, Nancy is a complete “aestheticist” – a term that was coined by a long-term friend and colleague when asked what word would describe her best.
a bit of background
To date, Nancy has coordinated in excess of 50 events including weddings (her favourite kind of course) and creative projects such as the multi-million dollar South African design and homeware promotion with El Corte Ingles in Spain. Over the years she has been blessed to have worked with industry greats including some of South Africa’s most well-loved artists such as Jonny Clegg, Goldfish, Coda, Sterling EQ, New World Dance Theatre.
Armed with a healthy dose of meticulousness, Nancy’s skill set is rare and specialised. She is equal parts designer and project manager with a love for decor, writing, cooking, and dance.
But at the essence of it all is a deep appreciation for aesthetics - spaces, colours, textures, fonts, fabrics, flowers and locations. She is happiest when she is “making pretty” and has been blessed with the opportunity to inspire others through the many events, weddings, interiors, sets, and gifts that she has designed and created over the years. Nancy has honed her skills working creatively with internationally renowned brands including: Woolworths South Africa, Emirates Airlines, Williams Sonoma (USA), Globus (Switzerland), The University of Cape Town, De Beers, Cadiz, Novare Investments, eat.art, SOURCE, Cape Herb & Spice. She is also a passionate foodie and has provided blog content and food photography for eat.art since 2013. Nancy has managed teams of creatives, driving innovation and strong concept in various creative arenas, including fine food gifting for some of the world’s most high end retailers. She has also been actively involved in trend forecasting for such teams across multiple creative disciplines, affording her the opportunity to travel extensively. Her most recent trip being to New York City in October 2016.
Nancy lives in beautiful Noordhoek in Cape Town, with her husband, two gorgeous daughters, two fat cats and adored English bulldog.
