Surely happiness resides in the colour yellow? We think so, and are always thrilled when we get to play with it! We are especially inspired by the range of blooms that one gets to experiment with when dealing with yellow in a wedding palette. Our favourites are hands down Craspedia, fondly referred to as Billy's amoungst the team - which are tiny compact balls of yellow joy. This make them beyond brilliant to work with as they fit into spaces, bunch together beautifully, or arrange well asymmetrically especially with ther stems cut to different lengths. A single Billy in a elegant vintage glass vase is equally as striking as a tight bunch in a battered sardine can. Billy's make creatively inspired boutonnieres that can effortlessly appear intricate!

We love yellow in a wedding palette because not only does it compliment almost any other colour, it also pops amidst a riot of colour to produce a bohemian rhapsody second to none - a 'wow' theme every time, and entirely on trend, yes still, including bridal garlands.

Being a little boho ourselves - we love playing with more colour than not these days - a feast for the eyes if you will and a reminder of why we do what we do. But back to yellow...why not jazz up a contemporary black and white wedding with the very odd splash of yellow in unexpected places. Or simply, throw in a single cluster of bold, bright sunshine into a bridal bouquet for a wedding whose palette is organic earthy neutrals. Eccentic? Maybe a little - but why not, even if just for being a conversation piece. Alternatively, work a yellow streak through an oyster green feast of succulents to offset the greens and compliment the natural shades of mauve. There are a myriad of brilliant yellow blooms available locally, therefore an artful combination of a variety of different bright yellow blooms used together is fantastically effective and texture rich, especially when accessorised with beautiful, bold tapes and ribbons.

We believe yellow is lucky in love, therefore a wedding concept that embraces it openly is all set in the blessing department.

Besides our Billy's, here are a few other varietals that offer lucky yellows:

Pincushion protea | rose | gerbera | tulip | calla lily | daffodil | sunflower | zinnia | begonia | marigold | ranunculas | chrysanthemum | day lily | daisy | black eyed Susun | pansy | iris | snapdragon | frangipani...
